Exciting News!

My memoir, Break into Blossom: A Memoir, will be published in Fall 2027. After years of research and a degree in Publishing for Writers, I made the decision to publish with the renowned hybrid company She Writes Press. It took me years to write and process my journey and I’m so excited to share it with all of you.

Break Into Blossom is the story I needed to read, but couldn’t find at my lowest point. I read every mental health memoir I could get my hands on, but none were relatable to me: a typical middle-aged, middle-class woman. I didn’t have a PhD in mental health like Kay Redfield Jamison in An Unquiet Mind. I didn’t have the celebrity of Brooke Shields, Patty Duke, or Carrie Fisher. I wasn’t a child under the care of loving parents like Linea Johnson in Perfect Chaos, or a wealthy lawyer in Beverly Hills like Terri Cheney in Manic. These stories, rather than being helpful only depressed me more, because if they barely survived despite their vast knowledge, money, resources, and support, what were my chances?

With more than six million people with Bipolar Disorder and 15 million with Depression, I wondered why it was so hard to find the voice of the typical middle-aged, middle-class person. I vowed that if I survived my ordeal, I’d provide that voice.
